Thanks for noting the great value of interlibrary loan services! They can also save tax payers. By sharing books with other regional libraries, your local library (especially if it's a smaller one) doesn't have to spend as much to build and maintain a large and diverse collection. It's a shame that so many state institutions have become so dependent on discretionary federal grants - assuming they'll always roll in on an annual basis - and with no contingency plan if they suddenly didn't.

No, it’s not. First, a library agency has NO justification under the Constitution. Secondly, it was the Carnegie (1%er) that started 2,509 libraries across the country. I would applaud this as I’m an avid reader, except that it appears to further the history they want us to know, not the actual history.
